Coach and mentor employee direct reports.
May coach and mentor non direct reports as needed.
Manage Performance Review process for employees.
Manage team and individual performance.
Monitor and ensure organizational goals and contractual commitments are met (e.g. budget/cost, service availability, responses, reports).
Advise management and peers on broad organizational, technical, and strategic matters of importance.
Establish and manage relationships with account and client leaders with an objective of building trust and maintaining/growing the business.
Education and Experience Required:
Must be a US Citizen
The ideal candidate will have a 4 year college degree in Computer Science or equivalent, and have 10 years of experience leading mainframe software teams.
Strong Infrastructure technical leadership experience.
This should include leading teams of 25 - 50 people supporting infrastructure technologies such as z/OS, CICS, IMS,
DB2, MF Storage, Automation, security projects ( RACF, ACF2, Top Secret).
Knowledge of other infrastructure technologies including storage, back up, data recovery, and network services.
Strong knowledge in ITIL processes including
Incident Management: Resolve most technical incidents independently within your technical area. Work with team members to resolve more complex or cross-technology incidents.
Escalation Management: identify potential escalations and alert management proactively.
Problem Management: Begin to proactively and reactively provide solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility. Ability to lead root cause analysis.
Change Management/Implementation: Independently review, implement, and verify changes/solutions of moderate complexity and risk to meet customer infrastructure needs within area(s) of technical responsibility.
Configuration Management: Ensure Configuration Management Database (CMDB) entries are complete and accurate.
Solution Design: Apply standard solutions to meet moderately complex customer infrastructure needs within area(s) of technical responsibility. Review proposed solution designs and determine the ability for team to support the solution with standard services or if customer services will be needed.
Quality: Provide continual improvement recommendations/direction setting advice within work team.
Project Management: Participate in customer and internal projects, including transformation. Lead projects from own responsibility area.
Customer Relationship Management: Balance internal needs with customers and/or internal businesses/end user’s needs within defined parameters.
Teamwork: Work as part of a team, which may be virtual, global, and/or multi-functional. Seen as a resource to the team within area of technical responsibility. Typically advises or sets direction for direct team or for larger infrastructure team.
